The GYROTONIC ® and GYROKINESIS® Method is an original movement system that addresses the whole body by increasing range of motion, improving strength and endurance, stimulating the nervous system and creating efficiency of movement patterns.
The GYROTONIC® Method utilizes specialized equipment to guide, assist, and challenge the exerciser.
The GYROKINESIS® Method is practiced on a mat and chair, without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences. As well as use rhythm to coordinate movement, breath and mental focus.
A wide variety of people take Gyrotonic classes, including accomplished athletes, senior citizens, fitness enthusiasts, and those recovering from an injury. Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercises help everyone improve their functional movement, and rehabilitation clients recover more quickly and fully post injury.
